This firmware only supports Mac OS 9.x and OS X Version 10.2.x; DRIVES CONNECTED TO A TEMPO CARD UPDATED WITH FIRMWARE VERSION 4.5 WILL NOT APPEAR UNDER EARLIER MAC OS X VERSIONS. If you are using Mac OS 9.x and OS X Versions 10.0 through 10.1.4, you need firmware version 4.0.

Before You Install

•	*You must update the firmware on the Tempo™ card before* you connect any high capacity (more than 137GB) hard drives.**
•	*You must boot your system in Mac® OS 9.x to update the firmware on your Tempo ATA133, Tempo HD, or Tempo Trio card; do not* attempt to perform these steps in Mac OS X Classic mode.**
•	After ensuring your system will boot in Mac OS 9.x, you must install the Tempo card into your system before performing the installation steps listed here.
•	You must have the full version of Mac OS 9 installed on your system in order to update the Tempo card’s firmware.

Installation Instructions

1.	Update the Tempo card’s firmware. Double-click the Tempo ATA Firmware 4.5 file icon to launch the firmware update application. When the dialog window opens, click Continue to complete the firmware update. Note: This firmware update works only on Tempo ATA133, Tempo HD, and Tempo Trio cards.
2.	Restart your system.
3.	For Mac OS X users only: From the Apple Menu, select Control Panels: Startup Disk.
4.	For Mac OS X users only: Restart your system in OS X. Select your Mac OS X volume, then click restart.

General Information

•	Updating your Tempo card’s firmware to version 4.5 enables it to support high capacity (larger than 137GB) hard drives ONLY under Mac OS 9.x and Mac OS X Version 10.2.x.
