I like to ask and discuss where on the MacBook Pro M1 series are limited to HDMI 2.0. I am quite puzzled by the fact that this is not an M1 CPU/GPU bandwidth limitation?
My MacBook Pro M1 Pro is capable of running 4K at 120Hz/144Hz(DSC) with the following setup:

My monitor black screen several times a day, and need to turn the monitor off and on to resolve the problem.
It was working without any issues before updating to 12.3.1

Is there something I need to know before buying one (adapters, conditions, etc...)

Hello everyone.
Several months ago I built a gaming PC and connected it to an Acer XF270HUA monitor.
It's stunning: 1440p, 144Hz, 4ms, IPS, FreeSync, thin bezels. I like it.
I like it so much that I wanna connect my MacBook Pro to it when I'm not gaming and simply use it as my main monitor...
So I purchased the Mac Mini i3 (2018) variant. I have an AOC AGON AG251FZ and these refresh rates are supported in 1080p;
It feels very nice and fluid in 144Hz. Mind you my monitor supports 240Hz via DP, not tried that.
I can't seem to find a concrete answer nor solution to this question.
So I figured I had ask (March 2019) so that everyone later can have a clear answer.

Hi everyone. I just picked up a Late 2012 Mac Mini and put 16GB of RAM and an SSD in it. I already had a 144Hz MSI G27C monitor that I use with my Alienware laptop, which runs great over HDMI 2.1 at 144Hz. Using that same cable, and a 4K/3D mini-DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, I was hoping to run...
I just got them yesterday

And I bought a TypeC to DP1.2 Cable

I didn't want to create a new thread, because it seems inefficient. But I looked around and I can't really see my particular query answered anywhere.
I am the (still relatively proud) owner of a mid 2012 15" Retina MacBook Pro - the original Retina MacBook Pro. I've had it for about 3 years and...
