    512GB SSD CTO ORDERD, BUT 500GB FLASH STORAGE DELIVERED

    I've got my iMac yesterday. It's a 2017 iMac 5K model, and 512GB SSD CTO. But in the system info, storage type is displayed as a '500GB Flash Storage', and its capacity is 470.XXGB/499.xxGB. I understand the capacity can be shown under, but why the storage type is shown as a 500GB? And isn't...

    256GB/512GB?

    I mainly use my MacBook Pro atm for editing with an external drive, would you say that a 256GB with a 2TB external drive would suffice for my editing needs on a 27-inch iMac 5k retina? Or would you say that playing it safe and spending more money on the 512GB would be worth it??
