I have used iStat Menus for years without issue. However, since the last update, I get the spinning beachball and the Finder locks up. Looking in Activity Monitor shows components of iStat Menus not responding. Seems iStat is doing something that affects disk access.
I completely removed iStat...
Anyone else have Highpoint kernel extensions listed in About this Mac > System Report > Software > Extensions?
I'm wondering if it's safe to delete them or at least if there's a way to find out where they're from/how they got installed?
Because I just had 3 apps (Numbers, Messages, Quicklook)...
I have no idea how to reach out to Apple, but their new Catalina OS is making my work very painful...
I want to know if others are having this problem too.
Same behaviour on my girlfriend's MacBook Air with Catalina, but my 6 years old iMac with Sierra doesn't have this problem.

From the times of System 7.5.3, across hardware architecture and OS changes, Finder has kept a great track record of being a suprisingly, disappointingly fragile app. Back then, the source of minutes-long freezes could be copying files into diskettes; now it is synchronizing iOS gadgets over...
Hi guys. I'm in Ireland but I use a US version MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), 2.9 Ghz Intel Core i7, 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB.
I bought it used from someone who barely used it, about 3 or 4 years ago. It has been running like a dream, right up until yesterday.
I...
Hi this is my first post. I'm still quite new to having a mac, around a month. I bought a mid 2012 15". I've upgraded to 16 gb of corsair ram and last week to a 1tb ssd from crucial.
For most of the week the laptop has frozen while browsing, either when going between or opening tabs in any...

Hi everyone!
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing the same issues I am having, but it's driving me nuts and I can't seem to fix it, so here I am pleading for help.
My iMac (21.5" Late 2013, 8GB RAM, 2.7GHz i5, 1TB HDD, MacOS Sierra 10.12) has been going extremely slow. It has been happening...
Before I switched to Sierra, with various previous OSX versions, I would occasionally get beachballs which I could fix by force-quitting the unresponsive application, which is usually Safari. Now with Sierra, whenever I get a beachball, the whole computer becomes unresponsive so I can't...
Did a search and noticed a few people on Sierra had this but no answer yet. Will file a radar with Apple but worth posting here too.
It doesn't happen on all my Sierra computers, in fact it only happens on the new MacBook Pro, which I restore from a Carbon Copy Clone of my 'old' MacBook Pro...

I am constantly getting the dreaded beachball.
I have done all the usual things to try and speed up my computer. I have deleted my cashe, cookies, shut down all things "running in the background", I have even resorted to PC strategies such as restarting my computer or some form of...
Hi, I wasn't able to find any answers in oder threads, so here is the situation. I updated my Macbook Pro 17 inch (2010, I know its old) to 10.11.5 from 10.11.3 and it worked fine for 2 days, no problems at all and I could work perfectly on it like I always used to. Then suddenly, after each...
Hi there,
Hope someone can help with this problem as I am at the end of my tether with it and my iTunes has been rendered next to useless.
The problem began a week or so ago and predominantly arises when I select a track and try to access its metadata to make changes - either through right...
I saw this a few times prior to upgrading to 10.11.5, but it has happened twice now.
iMac 27" (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)) goes to sleep...
I wake it up, it wakes up and presents me with the login (I need to select the user and enter the password).
When I enter the password, it goes to...
I’m having trouble with a newly purchased external SSD. I’m currently using it to store photos and edit them within Lightroom. After 5min of not being used (ex. watching a YouTube video and not using Lightroom), when I go to use Lightroom again, the SSD and Lightroom will totally freeze up and I...
Hi, would really appreciate some help.
Yesterday, MacBook was running ok, but I noticed a few beach balls lasting a few seconds.
Today when I turned computer on, everything is resulting in beach balls that last minutes. I.e. Clicked on my user to login, 3 minutes. Start typing pw, I press the...
Instead of posting the url again and again for people having issues with it, I will post this here with the tags needed to automatically find it. Hope this is ok for the moderators. If not, just delete the Thread.

Although my MBP 2012 i7 15" has just been upgraded (1TB SSD and 16GB) and works very fine, I had sometimes more and more beach balls and sometimes freezing of Safari since some months.
It´s rarely really disturbing, but nevertheless very irritating.
I read an interesting posting a week ago that...
