    is there a way to buy a mid range phone & convert to STOCK android

    Hi Searching for Stock Android, I was recommended Nexus 5x, 6 etc which are above my budget So, is there a way to buy a reasonable phone within $250 budget & convert to stock Android ? Which phone and how ? how easy / cumbersome ? TIA for tips and experiences Regards
