Hi everyone,
Not completely sure if this is the best place to discuss this, but I have for a while used supervised iOS/iPadOS devices (I don’t have a Mac). The reason for this is so that I can enforce the settings on my ControlD DNS account. For instance, my ControlD set-up is that for 90% of...
hey there. Whenever I wanna change my DNS settings to automatic, I get these both 2 DNS servers (that I added from NextDNS.kO) back again.
Is this a Bug in iOS 16? Usually I can delete the DNS settings and everything is saved.
When setting up custom domain in iCloud+ Mail, iCloud.com offers to change Cloudflare (my DNS management tool) settings automatically, which is nice supposedly. However, it turns out this automation is buggy and deleted extra CNAME records for my other services which is a bummer.
If you are...
Does macOS have some internal way to do DNS filtering? Like whitelisting only specific websites. I know there are apps like AdGuard. There is also ScreenTime.
But will ScreenTime limit only connections by apps and from the browser, or is it really a global filter for the whole system (so it...
Hi, I have an old (2000 ish) iMac G3 which my good lady used to use on a dialup basis.
I fired it up, the machine runs fine.
I plugged in an Ethernet cable, my router sees the iMac and gives it an IP address from its DHCP pool
I can ping the iMac from other devices on my home network, so far...
Any of you know of a DNS over TLS (DoT) client for Mavericks? Hoping to configure NextDNS on someone's machine that can't do it via their router.
The official NextDNS client on the MAS is for 10.11 - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nextdns/id1464122853 . This solution was only for macOS Sierra...
Hey everyone,
I have noticed this weird issue when trying to change DNS settings on my router (AirPort Extreme).
As soon as I change the DNS settings on my router, WiFi speed on my MBP drops significantly (download drops from 300Mbps to like 15Mbps). All other devices work just fine though...
Just updated my iPad with iPad OS and it seems all my development servers aren't working anymore.
I have setup those to be reached by their own internal domain, like "server1.my-machine", "server2.my-machine" etc. My router (by Lancom) has its own internal DNS server which resolves...
I have a 10.11.6 Mac mini DNS Server (5.2). Starting a few days ago, I get an error message whenever I try to get into the DNS Server administration about the configuration not being able to be read properly and therefore the "Service functionality and administration might be affected"...
I was in Apple Store the other day. My computer wasn’t able to access their WiFi, as I was using Google’s DNS servers. After I took out the 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 resolvers by Google DNS the internet was accessible again. The Apple Store employee referenced that Apple has their own DNS servers for...
I am managing an Windows Active Directory network and have several mac machines that need to be added in. Our office has a LAN (with no internet access) to allow users to access local resources (File Server, printers, etc). But to connect to the internet, we all use the building's WiFi...
Hi,
I’m hoping someone can help me as I’m quite new to Wine and Windows emulation in general.
I’m trying to setup Steam on my Mac Pro so I can download the Windows-only games and am using a 64bit engine as a couple of titles won’t play on x86. My understanding based on checking out the Linux...
So I am cord cutting for the second time. The first time I was younger and poorer and couldn't afford cable so it was out of necessity. This time, I have Xfinity X1 and have come to enjoy it and access to the Apple TV network apps. The outrageous monthly cost has really gotten to me and I...
Issue: A few days ago all browsers on my Macbook Retina stopped showing certain images on at least one website I frequently visit.
This is happening in Chrome, Safari and Firefox.
More product details:

Every now and then, some domains are unreachable on our internet connection.
Like today, it's Amazon.com, and dailymail.co.uk. They just report back as 'Server not found'.
Sometimes it's popular sites like Amazon today. And apparently it's only on this computer! WTF!!!
I've used a local DNS server for decades, and it's been our Windows Server, and the current one is Windows 2008, and it's worked for YEARS flawlessly.
Until Monday.
It stopped answering DNS queries.
I've reset it, I've reinstalled it, I've gone through all of the hair brained (well most)...

Hello everybody,
I now that this topic has been discussed in other posts, but I had the feeling that every case was some kind of unique (after the usual troubleshooting), so I thought I give it a try with another post.
My problem:
I live in Spain and moved to a new place, where I am using the...
