Hi everyone!
After updating my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18.1, during a call and its Dynamic Island animation, the clock on the upper corner doesn’t show up anymore.
This happens only in calls, in other circumstances it is like it used to.
Already tried hard resetting the iPhone.
Anyone else?
Has anyone addressed how the Dynamic Island will look given the 15 and 15 Plus don't have ProMotion? I remember last year it was said that ProMotion played a big part on how fluid it was on the Pros. Just curious about it.
Getting an iPhone 15 Pro and just wondering if these features have real world benefits or are they just a gimmick?
What apps make use of these features?
I’m recently seeing big discounts on the iPhone 14, and I expect the price to go further down once the 15s get announced.
While I will wait and see what’s coming, it’s well known that all the iPhone 15s will abandon the notch in favor of the new Dynamic Island.
For the past year, I’ve had the...
I’m finding it funny that the biggest feature of last year’s iPhone hardware update is getting nothing new added in iOS 17. Do you think there will be any new Dynamic Island features this year? Doesn’t currently seem so 🤔
I just got the iPhone 14 Pro Max and I’m a bit underwhelmed by the dynamic island.
I thought it would be more useful and cooler than it is.
I would have liked to see notifications be displayed in it rather than the banner.
What would you like to see in future variations of the dynamic island?
When the iPhone 14 Pro was first announced, Apple's Developer website allowed you to download product bezel templates that featured the dual cutout design that the phone's hardware truly has.
This was quickly replaced with the single pill-shaped Dynamic Island we see today.
I'd like to get my...
Am I the only one finding the punch-hole display fascinating? I don't know why Apple doesn't give users the freedom to choose whether they have a 'pill' or 'mark' notch. I kind of like the disconnected style to remind me of the technology behind the OLED screen, which IOS 16 has those 'islands'...
I went into a shop to use the dynamic island, and after getting to use it for a few apps I couldn’t really tell if this would be useful or not.
Is this just a novelty 2nd screen, or have people really begun to get use out of it after using it for a few weeks? I only used it for 10 mins at the...
The phone was in portrait orientation the whole time. I did try toggling auto-rotation and trying to realign orientation. The only thing which fixed this was restarting the phone.
Pretty random and only occurred once, thought it'd be funny to share here. iOS 16 definitely needs some ironing out.
New month, new Apple toys. We’ve been monitoring the rumors about the new iPhone here at Macrumors for over year and the day has finally arrived where we can touch, tap, gesture and all the everyday things we do on our current iPhones. My self imposed upgrade is not until next fall when...
Anyone else experiencing this issue where the App Library or widgets screen seems to overlap with the dynamic island? If you open an app from the App Library and then close it, the overlap occurs. I even factory restored the phone and it still does it.
OK I am totally going to be the person responsible for coin the phrase,
“The DI” (dynamic island)
I really think that this feature is the Bomb 💣! Loving it! I can’t wait for my phone to arrive!
I like being able to see the status icons in the status bar, such as Do Not Disturb / Focus Mode, Rotation Lock, Battery Percentage, battery level of paired bluetooth device, etc. The notch took up so much space that you couldn't see those at a glance--you had to swipe down to the Control Center...
So, here's one of the reviews that shows how the dynamic island works (time stamped)
First of all, it's an amazing achievement. Looks very cool and futuristic.
However, to make use of the "island" you have to push to the upper part of the display. It's safe to say that it's impossible to do...
