    MP 1,1-5,1 Mac Pro 5,1 with Pixlas mod doesn't boot with Nvidia GPU

    So I've got a bit of a weird setup going on, I'll admit. I've been running ESXi 6.0.0 on my 2012 5,1 for almost 7 years at this point. Initially this was to support a bespoke CI workflow that needed some macOS build agents but eventually just turned into my homelab. Everything's been going great...

    Catalina 10.15.2 update freezes on Apple Logo in ESXi 6.7u VM

    Greetings! So I managed to get a Catalina 10.15 vm up and running in ESXi 6.7u2. When I try to install Catalina updates, however, it goes to the Apple logo, status bar moves ever so slightly, reboots again and this time hangs on the Apple logo. To fix this, I either remove or disable "Mac OS"...

    I'm posting here to hear about any success stories with installing ESXi on the Mac Pro 7,1. My work is currently waiting for the rack mount version to be available before we order, but I would like to know what steps others are taking to make ESXi work on this machine or are planning to do.
