iPhone 14/Plus iPhone 14 Plus only recording in h264

As the title says, no matter what I change in the settings everything my iPhone 14 Plus records is in h264. Needless to say I'd prefer to record in h265 for file size reasons. I'm not using my device professionally or anything. Is this maybe a bug? Also I haven't tried any 3rd party app yet...

M1 hardware encoded h.264 videos randomly too large

Has anybody else experienced the issue that videos encoded with the M1 hardware encoder for h.264 will randomly be much larger than other times even when the videos are very similar and encoding is done with the exact same settings?

    MP 1,1-5,1 RX580 - bad video quality

Hi, I´m using a 5.1 mid 2010. Exact configuration attached. I recently installed OC (using the easy hw-acceleration-package). Now I've remarked very strange behaviors as well in Mojave as in Catalina regarding videos (YouTube as well as desktop). They seem to be extremely "pixeled" in the...

MP 6,1 6,1 H264 and advise for a new system

Best Way to Get DVDs into m4v format at Full Resolution

I have a bunch of DVDs which I'd previously ripped for playback on my Apple TVs using Handbrake, which involves some loss of picture quality (from a hobbled picture quality to start with). I've recently increased significantly my storage capacity, so I want to re-do those DVDs with the maximum...

Shouldn't my Mac play this video ?

Jellyfish 140mbps 4K UHD h264 My 2017 MacBook Pro 13" TB (base stock configuration) can't play this smoothly in VLC. The first 15 seconds are choppy and then it becomes smooth but the VLC CPU usage is 300+%. Hardware support for h264 should be good enough already. Is the bitrate too high here...

    H265/HEVC on MacBook Pro 2016

Did anyone catch this during the keynote? 1. "We're building in software encoder support into High Sierra for all Macs" 2. "Hardware acceleration of HEVC in the newest Macs"... Hardware accelerated lists MacBook Pro 2016. I thought this is not possible in Skylake?
