ipad os 18

I'm being given the choice of update to iPad OS 17.7 or jumping to 18. For obvious reasons, I do not want to upgrade to version 18 -- yet, if at all. (I'm on an iPad 9.) However, is 17.7 OK? Or, should I hold off on it, too, until bug reports come in and bugs are fixed?

I’ve update my iPad Pro M1 with Beta 18.1 and its still showing 18.0 Also I can’t remove the Beta as it doesn’t show the option any ideas?
