Hey there folks, so I noticed for the last two weeks on iOS 15.7/15.7.1 that I wake up to find my phone to only be at 80% charge.
Optimize charging had always worked fine for me, I would wake up seeing the messages that it would complete the 100% charge a few hours later before I would wake up...
Anybody else's battery charging pattern look like this?
Loads of little inconsistent charges rather than one continuous green lozenge.
This is from my iPhone 13 Pro while connected to a Magsafe charger and 20W charging brick - have tried with the included USB-C to lightning cable an 18W...
From what I've read it's taken up to a few weeks for the OS to learn one's charging routines and limit the battery to 80% whilst charging.
Am curious as to how long it took your M1 to start that behaviour, and what your charging patterns were like.
I keep turning off optimised battery charging. Because a bug is keeping turning it back on.
From iOS 13.latest upgraded to iOS 14.2 - the post-install script turned it back on.
I turned it off
I moved to my new iPhone - iPhone 12 Mini. It migrated all my settings. Except optimised battery...
The new optimised charging feature seems like a great idea, anything designed to prolong the lifetime of a non user replaceable battery in a sealed phone is a great idea.
However I do foresee an issue with this feature, and that is the user.
I foresee a lot of non tech savvy people plugging...
