I had been plagued with my CCC cloned NVMe drive not displaying the correct name in the OpenCore picklist, and have even written about it here in the OpenCore thread. But I have finally found a workflow that works at least for me to correct this annoyance.
Just to back up a moment first though...
Trying to factory reset and perform a clean re-install of OS Sierra on late 2017 15" MacBook Pro 3.1ghz machine to resell to a friend, but not successful due to this error message "Could not create a preboot volume for APFS install" every single time for 4 hours of trying over and over again...
I have two Preboot (Preboot and Preboot 1) folders in /Volumes. They are the same size. Quick googling indicated that they are APFS related.
My question is: what purpose do they serve and is it safe to delete them?
