    15" MacBook Pro, mid 2014: running 4k in scaled mode

    I have a 15" MacBook Pro, mid 2014, with the Intel Iris Pro card. I'm thinking about getting a 4k external monitor, which I would run in the scaled resolution of 3008 x 1692 (6016 x 3384). This should work, but according to some sources, the laptop may have hard time supporting the 4k display...

    rMBP lowering the resolution to help battery life/less CPU usage?

    Hi! I'm running on a late 2014 Retina MacBook Pro 13" which is a 2560x1600 display (I think). When you go into System Preferences on the display options the "Default for Display" is said to "look like 1280x800".
