screen darkens

I have had my 6+ just under a year. For the past couple weeks, the screen will fade half dark no matter what I'm doing on the phone. I turn it on and within seconds it fades. I have an appointment next week at an Apple Store near me. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue?
