I've been following along with a few of these types of threads concerning booting / compatible PowerPC SATA (SIL-)controller cards. I came across this TSATA6-SSDPR-E2 from Sonnet and decided to test it in my Dual G5.
Without further ado – there is a way to make it work as a super-fast RAID0...
Sonnet's own compatibility matrix suggests that using three 4k monitors via their dock is possible (with the caveat that you apparently need to use their Thunderbolt 3 to Dual DisplayPort Adapter).
Theoretically that should be possible since 4k60 uses ~12Gbps bandwidth, and hence 36gbps total...
hmmmm - trying to add Thunderbolt 3 to my Mac Pro 2013...
I use a Sonnet Echo Express III-D external PCIe expansion box for a few storage cards, and I am upgrading my Echo Express to TB3 via a TB3 Upgrade card from Sonnet. This card replaces the TB2 card in the Echo Express and the new TB3 card...
I put together a video detailing the benchmarks and usability of my upgraded Mac Pro 5,1 for video editing:

Hi! I bought an IOCREST Dual M.2 NVMe PCIe 3,0x16 Riser. Put 2 disks Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB It shows good results and the price is low. Can anyone have comparison tests with the Sonnet M. 2 4x4 PCIe Card and OWC Accelsior 4M2 ? Please share your experience! Thank you in advance!
Hi, I am looking to upgrade the stock 450MHz CPU in my G4 Cube and just acquired two G4 towers (Sawtooth and Quicksilver) with Sonnet cards. One is the Sonnet Encore/ST 1.4GHz (SG4-1400-2M) and the other the Sonnet/ST Duet Dual 1.8GHz (SG4D-1800). Neither are specifically designed for the G4...
Just wanted to share (and hopefully this shows up in Google because I was looking for this topic for a while until I decided to finally make a video) - upgrading the Sonnet eGFX Breakaway Box power supply works.
Went from 350watts + RX 580 to an Enermax 550 watt (sfx) PSU + Vega 56.
So I saw this:
https://www.apple.com/shop/product/HMT22ZM/A/sonnet-egfx-breakaway-puck-radeon-rx-560-external-gpu
Cult of Mac article about it:
https://www.cultofmac.com/617638/sonnets-new-egpu-adds-extra-muscle-to-your-mac-on-the-cheap/
Obviously not as powerful as a Vega 64, but at about...
Bulk of the latter doesn't matter to me.
Sonnet's led letter s looks nice, but the box will be out of sight.
How does these PSU's compare to each other?
CoreX has Lite-on PS-86512.
What kind of fan it has?
And what kind of PSU Sonnet550W has?
Any other factors between these?
