I have recently setup a 12,2 mid 2011 27" iMac (with dual internal SATA SSDs and 32 GB RAM + Thunderbolt 1 USB 3.0 adaptor) to dual boot with it's native High Sierra plus (using OpenCore Legacy Patcher) Ventura.
High Sierra is installed on it's own 1TB SSD, while there are multiple APFS volumes...

After upgrading to Monterey, after EVERY restart the mds_stores process (spotlight indexing) is running about 10-15 minutes, maxing out CPU completely and the fans running at highest speed.
Does anyone know what´s the cause for this...
Suddenly, for no obvious reason, searching Finder finds nothing. The reindexing Spotlight trick via SysPrefs didn't work, so I fired up Terminal and did the sudo mdutil -E / thing.
It shot back:

I was getting repeated crashes of suggestd, and the web suggested rebuilding Spotlight indexes with mdutil.
Now my Spotlight index is gone and I can't get it back :-(
I booted in recovery mode and said
