My watch has been installing the public beta for OS 8 for over an hour. In the past it was done in a matter of minutes. I'm hoping this public beta did not brick my watch. Any suggestions?

Got a S6 recently, amazing battery life, no issues (nike+ model). Been a ios15 user with 0 major issues, so did the gamble on watchOS8 beta2 2 days ago. It's killed the watch. I passed on Series 7 because, for me, there wasn't much difference than what the Series 6 offered. I will definitely pick one up in 2021. What do you think we'll see with Series 7/watchOS 8 or what features do you want?
