Hi,
My dad recently got a mac mini. It is his first mac and I must say that I am very impressed with it.

I transfered my iphoto library (27GB of photos) to the mini and I noticed that iphoto runs a bit choppy (although it has got noticeably faster after a few days - maybe it is just breaking in).

The mini only has 1GB of RAM. My 2.16 c2d MBP has 2 GB of ram and was wondering, could I take 1 GB Ram from my MBP and instal it on the mini?. Do they use the same type of ram?

No the do not. '07 MBP uses DDR2 and '09 Mini uses DDR3. You can not use DDR2 on DDR3 machines.

You can just buy 4GB of DDR3 to your Mini for $50. Crucial is good place to buy.
