Hey there.
as my Mini is on the way home. i am currently planning to upgrade it. for RAM , up to 4 G.
for the harddrive. i v found this:
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=494&language=en

the performance is better than expensive SSD disk i think, since the reading and writing speed is BOTH GOOD.

the only problme is the "Height" is 15mm. which is 6 mm higher than the normal 2.5' harddrive.

So. please anyone who has a Mini or is openning a Mini. please help me to fingure out will this thick 2.5 disk fit in ?

Many thanks

I bet heat is also an issue. These are for servers and are expected to be installed in systems with significant cooling.

Cheers,

Cheers,

i know it was designed for the servers. but from the performance view, is is not that hot as we thought it would be. seems just warm.... not hot

So , which harddrive are you using now. how is the speed please ?
i mean reading and writing speed

THanks

Raptors are designed to have a heat sink attached to help cool them down. It might be 2.5" but with the cooler attached, they become 3.5" drives, hence the height of 15mm
