I've been running my 1.0.2 unlocked iPhone since October now but I'm starting to feel a little left behind with some of the features available.

I'd like the same or better battery life and I'm interested in upgrading to the most reliable firmware (unlocked) out there.

What firmware is the most reliable to upgrade to??

Since 1.0.2 there have been
1.1.1 - which added the WiFi Music store
1.1.2 - not much different to 1.1.1 apart from with more International support
1.1.3 - Buggy, drains battery life - dont do it - nothing special about it.

i would personally suggest you upgrade to 1.1.2 as it is a hassle-free firmware and there is absolutely no problem with it... or if you like 1.1.1... but DONT go to 1.1.3 its ugly.

I was on the same train and decided to go for 1.1.1 and Im staying there until 1.1.4 is out, less buggy and unlockable. Remember that for you to upgrade from 1.0.2 you must "re-lock" the phone and that includes running some easy line commands on either your phone or your computer or you'll end up bricking the phone.

Thanks for the advice. I virginized first and did the small upgrade to 1.1.1 and unlocked using the guide here http://iphone.unlock.no/

So far, so good. Everything working so far including You Tube and Wi-Fi.

I just hope that this firmware is stable and the battery life is good.

Weird!!

I swapped my Voda Sim Card in the iPhone with a different Sim Card (still Vodafone) and incoming SMS's worked.

I put back in the original Vodafone Sim Card I want to use in the iPhone and now messages are coming in as normal.

Odd...

Probably a contact problem?
