1.1.1 iphone simfree to 2.1

hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone would know anything about the upgrading the firmware of my iphone, since it was unlocked and jailbroken to 1.1.1 at the time, would it be possible to upgrade it to the current firmware, im afraid of bricking it as its so important to me.

Help will be greatly appreciated!

You can update to 2.1 but it won't be unlocked anymore.
