I just bought an 1.1.2 OTB with the new 4.6 boot loader and accidentally rendered the phone unusable by trying to downgrade the baseband. Now it says "repair needed" and everything is sluggish, no sound and wi... I found a guide describing how to fix this, but it requires the phone to be at 1.0.2 to work. And here is my real problem, I can't downgrade to 1.0.2 (I put the phone in Recovery mode and select the restore file "iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw"), the process starts, but get stuck when status is "waiting on iphone..." and nothing else happens.

Could someone please clarify if this is possible and if not, is there an alternative method to fix it.

Thanks!

Ensure you are on iTunes 7.5 or earlier then enter DFU Mode and first downgrade to 1.1.1 then when you get error downgrade to 1.0.2. Instructions are most accurate at Hackint0sh.

I assume you have AT&T? A Windows PC with 7.5 and iPhuc is preferred.

Thanks for the suggestion! Yes I have AT&T and iTunes 7.5.
I put the phone in DFU mode and downgrade to 1.1.1, works fine, but when I try to restore 1.0.2, iTunes just times out with this status "waiting on iPhone", I let it run for hours, but nothing happens (the indicator on the phone, round thingy just spins around).

Fixed it, just upgraded to 1.1.3 and then down to 1.1.1 again. Worked like a charm!

hi i have the same problem us you , itunes waiting for iphone ,please explain me how to fix this

I don't think it's possible to downgrade to firmware 1.0.2 while having the new 4.6 bootloader. I never managed to do this.

1.1.2 jailbreak and activate

jailbreakme.com did not work for me in 1.1.1, and us you said is not possible to downgrade to 1.0.2 , what is the issue here? , if you succeed to do some thing please let me know, thanks

OOTB 1.1.2 Baseband 04.02.13

I just bought a iPhone which has the 04.02.13_G Baseband.

Can I downgrade this baseband without using Hardware Solutions?

If Yes? could you help me with the guide.

Sometimes you have to try several times when running the script from jailbreakme.com. I think it's dependent on server load or something, just try again at different times of day and it should finally work.

It's easy to see when it's successful as your phone should restart within few seconds.

There would be no point in downgrading the baseband as your phone most likely has the new 4.6 bootloader.

As of yet there is no software solution to unlock OTB 1.1.2 with bootloader 4.6 (you can of course jailbreak it and use it as an ipod, but no phone functionality). The only solution would be the hardware hack to downgrade the bootloader or a sim solution to make the phone think you have a valid AT&T sim card.

Do a Google search for stealth sim, Stealthsim, Next Sim, NextSim, Turbosim, Turbo Sim. Many of these solution works with 1.1.2 OTB and bootloader 4.6

For good tutorials on different topics check out this site, it's really good:

One more question , my iphone model is MA712LL/A ,WEEK 51, is your's the same model? because after week 47 i guess that they made changes in this new model.
If we have the same model i want you to confirm me that jailbreakme.com worked for you?

My phone is week 52 and I confirm that jailbreakme.com worked for me.

Firelite,

What confuses me is that your first post says that you had a 1.1.2 OTB and that you managed to downgrade the firmware? So does that mean that you didn't downgrade the Baseband or the bootloader and only jailbroke the phone and didn't unlock it?. (Since you're on AT&T).

Also installed BBinfo this is what it shows
Modem Firmware - 04.02.13_G
Bootloader Version - 4.6_M3S2

Can I try the anysim 1.2.1u on this bootloader? or will that brick my iPhone?

Do you expect a software solution soon or do you suggest I go ahead and pick up a hardware sim unlock?

Thanks

acrazindian,

Don't install AnySim!! - You've got BL4.6 which cannot be unlocked via software. You'd probably do some harm if you tried. Not worth the risk IMO.

Go ahead and get yourself a SIM solution. My phone was 1.1.2 OTB - and I have it working perfect with a *SIM.

Yes that is correct, I did not manage to downgrade the baseband, instead I rendered the phone unusable by erasing the baseband and rebooting the phone before finalizing with the hardware hack (downgrade bootloader).

As for Anysim, I have no experience with it and could not give any advise. I would go for hardware sim unlock as this works good.
