let's assume 1.1.3 is released on Tuesday....
will the apple store's iphone stock be replaced with the new firmware?
i'm thinking of getting one at the end of next week, and am worried that i might end up with a 1.1.3, which might be unjailbreakable.
what's you guys' thoughts on this?

it's january. Just wait less than a month and Apple will have an SDK.

I don't find that very comforting. Who knows what the terms of the SDK will be? Who knows if it will allow the native Mail application to run on a touch? Who knows anything about it?

It's simple to hack the current firmware. 1.1.3 will probably be simple too, but why take the risk? It might not be simple to hack 1.1.3.

The only reason I see to wait is that there might be an increase in the storage capacity next week.

I don't think they replace the stock, but you could get unlucky and get a newer one. I just bought an iPod touch from a bust Best Buy yesterday and it had firmware 1.1.1.

I can guarantee you that if the capacity of the iphone increases to 16gb and you plan on getting the 16gb capacity, then you will get a phone with 1.1.3.
