Recently I had the issue with power light flashing and the red light on the ram board inside the Mac. I read that you should check for dust and move the ram modules to different slots. I did this and everything worked fine, this happened again and it all worked out.

But right now, I have the same issue, after testing different pairs together and changing the ram/8 modules around to different slots, nothing is working and the same problem persists.

When I start up, there is a one red flash from the red lights which represent the slots, on the two ram boards.

Should I buy 2 ram modules to test it again? I can’t believe all the ram modules are dead? Or is it something more severe?

To add - I’m currently using 32GB RAM. I tried the original 4 sticks 2x2GB which came with the Mac that I saved and the power light still flashes and the red ligjts appear.

pull the one with the red light and the counterpart (like 3/4)
clean the contacts with isopropyl alcohol

and give the fans and processor heat sinks a good clean, the ram sticks get very hot
also don't run the box with the side panel removed.

Thanks for replying, at the moment I have some ram inside the Mac and it’s working for now. With isopropyl alcohol What’s the best way to apply it, as a spray or with a cloth?

A cotton swab, use one with no plastic.

Take care of esd when rubbing. At least hold the chassis of the Mac Pro (of course when plugged in) with one finger.
