Hey All

Well, I've given up on 2.0, too buggy, not many UI glitches and too slow.

I've just done a system restore and tried to play a movie (The Green Mile) but instead on playing in widescreen (unsure of the exact ratio) but it played in 4:3. I've triple-checked the original file and it's definitely widescreen!

I've tried a whole bunch of random movies on the ATV and they play file and in the correct ratio.

This happened before with the same file hence the upgrade to 2.0. In 2.0 it played fine and in widescreen. But for the reasons above I'm not prepared to use 2.0 anymore.

Anyone got any idea why this one video file would play in the incorrect format (in 1.1).

I seriously hope they iron out all the problems in 2.1, it's totally unacceptable.

Thanks in advance.

From lurking on the HB forums, there were some differences in Apple TV Take 2 to do with how it handled anamorphic widescreen content.

Where did you get the problem film from? If it was encoded from a DVD with HB, then which version? 0.9.1 targeted the original Apple TV software I believe, while 0.9.2 targets Apple TV 2.0

That makes sense. The Green Mile was encoded with 0.9.2. But I have other movies that were encoded with 0.9.2 and they seem fine.

It's a bit annoying that my movies will look different depending on which version of ATV I use.

I'm almost tempted to go back to 2.0 now.....

Thanks for the reply.
