I am sorry if this has been covered already as I am sure it has, but I haven't found a definitive answer yet and I am walking out the door.

I am buying an iphone today which I am going to presume to have 1.12 on it. I am not intending on unlocking it (don't even think that is possible just yet from what I have been reading) for I don't mind sticking with AT&T at the moment. However I do want to jailbreak it and be allowed to run 3rd party applications. This is still possible correct? If it is, would I need to jailbreak it before I activate the phone or does it matter?

Again I am sorry for what I am sure is a repeat question but I appreciate any response.

You can try to jailbreak but its going to be a hassle. Maybe waitng till Feburary when the "legal" apps will be released might be a good idea since we are now almost in the start of Janurary.
