1.14 to 2.0 Jailbrake question

Ok I have a 1.14 2g jailbroken Iphone that works great but I was looking into upgrading to 2.0 and then jailbreaking.

do any of you guys have any pros or cons to doing this. like better apps ect. I jailbroke my phone with ziphone.

I was in the exact same boat last week that you're in now. My 1.1.4 was working great, no issues at all. Jailbroke w/ iLiberty.

So on Monday night I decided to upgrade. I updated in iTunes to 2.0.2. Then used QuickPwn. I was upgraded and jailbroken in 1 hr. Very easy!

I want to do the same.

I have a iPhone 2g on 1.1.4
On a MAC I used Ziphone to Jailbreak, unlock and activate on FIDO

I'd like to upgrade to 2.?

It looks like Panage is the way to go.
So, that said ...
Is there a good walkthrough link someone could post
for this that explains from beginning to end on MAC?

Any help would be great.

With a 2.0 can I get jailbroken apps and apple app store apps as well on my phone

I Pwned my iPhone 2.5G. It took 15 minutes. Now I can use TMo in US, use App store apps, and cydia/installer apps!

Download 2.0.2 firmware & pwnage tool 2.3.1, build your custom image, put your phone in dfu mode, install via iTunes, and your all set. You can even deselect Installer if you wish, like I did and stick with Cydia. Stay away from Ziphone!

Sorry for the bump, but my question is simlar to the op's.
I'm still jailbroken on 1.1.4 with Ziphone. I want to update to the latest build thats out now using Quickpwn for Windows, however i've been putting it off b/c I don't want to lose any of the text messages I have saved on my iphone 2g now. If I were to restore, then upgrade to the latest firmware, then use QuickPwn to Jailbreak again to the latest version, will I lose my text messages I have saved on my iPhone now? Is there a way to guarantee I could keep my old texts after upgrading to 2.0.3?

Will the upgrade wipe out data & app installed?

Hi guys,

I'm using ph: running on 1.1.4 jailbroken with iLiberty+ and works incredible. Juz wanted to explore more into 2.0.2 especially bcoz of app. store.

Could anyone answer if the backup is needed b4 firmware upgrade?
Will all my data and app installed be gone when I upgrade?

I learnt some of u guys shared abt their experience to upgrade from 1.1.4 to 2.0. But, I don't see none saying abt backing up in this thread.

I'm eagerly looking forward to get reply fr iPhone geek who could able to answer my silly questions. Thanks in advance!
