Is this possible to have all three "share" an imac, and each have different users with differing taste. I am most concerned with how the mini (mom's) can be differentiated from my dad's ipod, but they share the same collection of music in the imac, but can the computer tell which is which when they are plugged? I don't want uploading music to be a nightmare...

I would assume that each user has his or her own iTunes settings for thier own iPod. Have you tried having each user log in under their own account?

if they each use their own account then everything will be seperate and work fine. if they use the same account then you can create playlits like 'moms playlist' and 'dads playlist' and have then you can set the iPod to sync to only the desired play list. and yes, the computer will know which one is which when it is plugged in.

I'm not sure about that....when I changed the syncing settings for my mini to only sync certain playlists, my 2nd gen iPod picked up the same settings next time I plugged it in, and I had to check off the extra couple playlists I wanted it to sync.

Is that an aberration, or just how it's supposed to work?
