I thought it would be cool to do a side by side. There's some wear to the case but nothing too bad. Believe it or not, these are the same colour.

The old case was cleaned and dried just before I took this picture (soap/water and a light scrub)

So you're happy with the case since you decided to buy a new one? Got a picture before cleaning the case?
I picked it up for a very cheap price. Planning on keeping this phone for a while so I'll switch to the new one maybe next year.

I'm happy to continue using my old one for now as there's nothing really wrong with it at all.

I don't have a picture, no, but if you look around the edges of the case, you'll see lighter areas. Before cleaning, these were dark (assuming they were filled with dirt and oil)

I honestly liked my FineWoven case and thought it held up fine. It was definitely better than the leather cases post-iPhone 12; those things were absolute garbage.

But I am apparently very gentle with my stuff, because I’ve never had any cases completely fall apart on me like I’ve seen happen to other people. The Apple silicone case on my 16 is holding up just fine too, save for some shiny edges. But I’ve seen people post pics of those cases that looked like a dog ate them.

I 100% agree. I really like the FineWoven cases. They’re much better than the leather cases. They age better. Even the old leather cases used to start feeling strange and smell bad, and they were hard to clean.

Mine held up well what i had for my 15 Pro, just sold it on Vinted too, buyer was very happy with it.

It had some wear but no tears or anything, like others here, I've always looked after everything so it did me well and now others are benefitting.

I'd never buy another case from Apple no matter what the material.

Both the silicon and leather cases fell apart on me with very little wear and tear, revealing a cardboardy inside material. I've got a Nomad Leather on my 15PM and it's a brilliant case. A year on and still looks like new and was just £10 more than an Apple alternative.

Odd. Mine hardly ever change. What are you doing that makes them fall apart?

Had numerous Apple leather cases over the years for numerous iPhones, never had one fall apart on me with little wear and tear.

Still use, and love, my FineWoven case. A bit sad that people who don’t like it seem to have smothered it for the rest of us. Ah well. Enjoy (or disparage) a couple of photos of my FineWoven and an old (5S era) ProductRed leather caseView attachment 2463956View attachment 2463957
It's usually what happens unfortunately. People jump on the trend of bashing a product just because they see other people doing it. Most of these people have had no actual real-world experience of owning the product, nor did they actually do any "real" tests which represented real-world usage. They took a knife or other sharp objects to the case and were shocked when it got damaged. No one does this in real life. The exact same would have happened if you did that to a leather case, but people loved those.

Anyway, your cases look good. I'd love to see how the FineWoven case looks after a scrub with some dish soap and rinsed off, i'm sure it would look great.

I actually quite like the patina that’s formed. It’s not sticky/tacky, it doesn’t smell, and the original peeling seems to have stopped and gained some patina as well. Only the marks from attachment points for the wallet and wireless charging aren’t to my taste. Perhaps a bit of a scrub there…

I don't use a case on my phone, but use a FineWoven band on my watch and have been quite happy with it. Every now and then I give it a wash with hand soap and it's done fine. It certainly holds up better to cleaning than the leather ones did.

I plan on giving FW a try some time. I considered it, but I have two high quality leather cases that I love using so I decided against spending this amount on FW. Since they're not in production anymore, I'll pick one up when the price inevitably goes down, as I think charging full price (in my country at least) for a discontinued product that garnered quite a bit of criticism is somewhat strange.
