Well, I am just wondering what kind of difference in speed/operating power I would expect?

My current mac mini is the 1.66Ghz 2GB RAM and I am thinking of a new macbook with probably just basic RAM and then upgrading it myself to 2GB.

Not much performance needed really. I am trying to figure out if it would be worth the few extra hundred dollars to upgrade.

I know I can sell my mac mini for a decent amount, seeing that mine when I sell it would go with a good USB camera, wireless keyboard and wireless mighty mouse.

go ahead and sell it if you want to

if you dont mind having a desk top i would reccomend an iMac. i love mine so much, way more than i did my macbook.

the screen is brilliant for watching youtubes, movies, tv shows, keynotes etc, and it is so much fun when your friends come over and start to look for a tower ;)

You're not going to see a tremendous performance increase. The graphics are a little better so games might run somewhat faster if you're into that. The main gain will be portability. You can surf on the couch, or on vacation (where perhaps you can really surf.) :D
