Hello folks,
I have a trusty Mac Pro 3,1 (Early 2008) that I am looking to pump one last bit of life in before I buy new in 2014. Since I already have done so with a SSD, I am considering bumping up my RAM to 24 GB from 16 GB and replacing my EVGA GTX 285 with a Radeon 7950.
Ebay's 1-800-4-Memory has a 16 GB set (4X4 GB) for $239 plus shipping, but I have NO IDEA how reliable that it is. They do have a 99.8% feedback rating with over 39,000 responses. OWC, whom I know is reliable, their same configuration is $534.99! I simply do not want to pay that much for an upgrade.
Anyone have any 1-800-4-memory modules running in their Mac Pros? What say you?
Thanks.
