So my wife and I both got iPads over the weekend. I have been and on again, off again Netflix subscriber over the years and decided to re-join to use the watch instantly feature. When I started the first video I saw it say "authorizing." My wife is presently living elsewhere, will she be able to use the streaming feature on her iPad also or do they restrict it somehow to 1 device per account?

My brother uses my netflix account on his iPad and I use it on mine. Not sure if we can both stream at the same time though.

On the cheapest account you can stream to two devices at the same time. I'm not sure if you can have more on one of the more expensive accounts but you can defiantly have at least two at once.

Ty for the answers. Im not even worried about streaming at same time as I doubt that will happen very often. I was just wondering about streaming to 2 separate iPads off the same account. Sounds like that wont be a problem. The wife should be happy to hear that. Happy wife, happy life. :D

From what I've heard the number of concurrent devices you can stream Netflix to is dependent on the number of disc out at a time plan you have. So if you have the 1 disc out at a time you can only stream to one device at a time, 2 discs and 2 devices etc. I did not read this specifically on Netflix's site, just read it on another site.

I can confirm that you can stream to two different iPads on the same account. My wife and I do that. We haven't tried streaming at the same time, however.

Last night I was watching a show on my iPad while my wife was watching Weeds on the xbox. No problem. I can't imagine this will present a problem, unless your wifi lacks the BW. But since you both already have your ipad's, why not just try it and find out for sure?

I can confirm this, and I also can confirm that you can stream multiple devices at the same time. I streamed 3 different movies on 3 different netflix devices (iPad, MacBook Pro, and Xbox 360) all at the same time with no problems in quality or limitations.

I have 1 dvd at a time and I just tested streaming at the same time on my computer and ipad and it works fine. You can watch the same thing or something different but if you have 1 dvd at a time you can use two devices at the same time. I think the max for total devices is five but I'm not sure.

EDIT: Netflix says you can have 6 devices set up at the same time. I'm not sure if that's correct since they're wrong about how many devices can stream at the same time.

I've only been able to stream to 2 devices at once in the past. Unless they changed it to 6, it's probably still 2.

Hmm i'm on the $9.99 1-disc plan and i'm able to use 2 devices at once.. for example, my Xbox360 streaming Netflix and my iPad streaming Netflix. Despite their FAQ saying you need a 2-disc plan to have 2 streams going at once.

Defiantly means in a defiant matter. You're looking for definitely.

the spelling police are all over MR today....

BTW, the devices do not even need to be in/on the same location/modem.
