Has anyone else noticed how hard it is to get a 1TB? In my area, they were available in the morning. But by lunchtime, they were all gone. Any clue as to why?

Given the high cost and no doubt lower demand, most stores probably just keep less than 5-10 in stock and restock when needed.

Would someone actually benefit from the 6 vs the 4? (i know having the TB HD is more and noticeable) but what about the ram?

I haven't checked recently but a lot of the early benchmarks said no, and some even suggested the 1TB model is slower even with 6GB ram.

When I was at the Apple store on the Upper West Side NYC yesterday, they didn’t have any 1TB 11” models in stock. But I had ordered mine already online.

My guess would be Apple considered the 1 TB as more of a niche demand and stocked accordingly.

The benchmarks show just around the same numbers, but when RAM hungry tasks demand the RAM, other testing has showed it does utilize the extra 2 gb when it needs it.
