Does anyone have any experience of using an install disc of one machine on another type?
Since i bought panther for my iBook that leaves the copy of 10.1.4 i got with my iBook free for use, right?

Is it even worth it to put 10.1.4 on a Yosemite tower (350 Mhz, 128MB RAM)? - it would be used by my mother for the internet only.

thanks a lot guys,
pmd.

It certainly wouldn't be as snappy as 9 or Panther. I seem to remember that you might not be able to use those CDs on a machine other than. But you can always try right?

I used the install cd from my grandmother's iMac on my PowerBook and a PowerMac. I also installed jaguar from a PowerMac cd onto a PowerBook. It should work. And if you have the panther cd you should install that, not 10.1.
