I thought I was updating my iPhone 7 (not Plus) to 10.0.3 and it updated to 10.1 instead. Now it won't sync with iTunes, which reports that "The iPhone "---" could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPhone." iTunes is current...correct account is logged in...# of authorized computers is OK. I'm baffled.

Have you tried logging out of all your Apple accounts and then logging back in?

That often fixes Apple cloud service-related issues.

I did a test sync after updating both my devices, and neither had an issue.

Nope, in any situation where wired is an option, it's the first choice for me.

iTunes' wireless sync has always seemed problematic anyway, so even less reason to use it.

I wouldn't have thought that signing out of iCloud would have fixed a sync problem, but I've never tried. :) Nevertheless, I don't think that was the issue - it was complaining about the computer not being authorized to sync with the phone. I did de- and re-authorize the computer, which didn't change anything.
