Am I the only one who is having this problem?

Prior to 10.10.2, when I did calculator operations in Spotlight (for example, 2+2 would then show =4 in the main bar), it worked. After updating to 10.10.2, it no longer does any calculations. I've turned off and back on the Calculator checkmark in the main Spotlight preferences, but no dice.

Can anyone else report back if they're having the same problem?

Works for me. You flicked in off and on in the preferences and it still didn't work?

Update:

Decided to install the combo 10.10.2 on top of 10.10.2 (I updated the other day using the delta installer via Software Update). No go.

This is VERY perplexing and frustrating, as I use this function quite often.

I tried using another user account as a test, and it worked fine there! So, what could the issue be?

I had spotlight issues ('Spot' returning Safari above Spotify being one!) before updating to 10.10.2. The update fixed that, and calculations are working for me too. So spotlight is working better than ever for me - sorry the update had the opposite effect for you!

Yet another update:

Went to ~/Library/Preferences. Deleted com.Apple.Spotlight.plist. Restarted. All Spotlight settings has been reset, and calculations now work!

I'll do a bit of testing just to make sure it's completely back to normal, then report back.

Updated Report: It works, but the weird thing is, if I uncheck and then re-check Calculator in the Preferences, it will 'stick' the 'off' setting for Calculator and I would have to go through the whole process again. Not sure what the issue is. Does this seem like a bug? As it seems specific to my user account.

You may try to delete that file again. Restart into recovery partition, repair permission until no error, and then boot back to OSX.
