Ditto. My Macbook Air fan is working overtime and it has never been this loud before.

yep same here. my macbook pro was already running slightly hot under 10.10.2, mainly because i see windowsserver constantly taking up 10-15% cpu, and was hoping this would be fixed in 10.10.3. but it seems it now actually runs hotter than before.

Mine is exactly the same as before 10.10.3. Have you done some troubleshooting via Activity Monitor to see what is causing the extra CPU usage? It may just be Photos organizing the library or reindexing the disk. It likely will settle back to normal after some time.

i'll def check activity monitor. but it's been like this since public beta 1; so my photos (not a large library either) have long since 'organized', and no indexing taking place in spotlight.

will investigate, thanx!

My fans were spinning like crazy when it was converting my 50+GB photo library but it's settled down since then. Did yours ever quiet down too?

my fans usually kick in when Logic X is bouncing audio; that's always been the case. just, in 10.10.3...my macbook is running hotter than previously (10.9, 10.10-10.10.1).

will keep an eye on it, and had already reported it to apple during the public beta...
