Hello all,

Is it possible to upgrade to 10.10.3 without installing the new photos app?

No. It's part of the bundle.
However, if you are scared you'll lose iPhoto or Aperture... don't be.
I'm running 10.10.3 myself and while Photos got installed... iPhoto and Aperture work just as before. They do NOT get removed from your computer!

If you don't want it touching your iPhoto/Aperture library then don't fire it up. Its an improvement over iPhoto, but not for Aperture. Since its part of the update, there's no way to not install it, it gets installed as part of the patch.

thank you....

thank you for the replies. My concern is that I have a mac mini entry level 2014 (1.4 ghz with 4GB of ram) and I am worried about the new app making my computer slow. I have recently migrated the OS to an external SSD which made the mini useable, but in it's raw state it was just terrible.
I don't want anything to push me backwards in terms of performance.
I used to trust Apple, that any updates would make things better, not any more.

How does one find iPhoto after the update? I don't it installed anymore on my Mac. Even tried finding it in spotlight

Did you delete from your Mac at one time before the update to 10.10.3? Open the Mac App Store application, go to Purchased. Does it show up there?
