10.10.3

This is not a Yosemite is terrible thread but have some people experienced some issues with 10.10.3 in regards to speed and heat?.
I haven't had any issues with Yosemite at all but since 10.10.3 my fan keeps turning on a lot more than it ever has, even sometimes when I am not doing anything. The Mac also seems to become a bit slower as the day goes on, eg while working with Xcode or pixelmator.
I did read in other threads that the new photos app is causing excessive fan spinning for some users, but for me it happens regardless so I don't think it's the photos app.
Any people got some suggestions or similar issues?

Have you tired resetting your SMC? Might be worth a try.

Your problem isn't here on 10.10.3 on my MBP other than that crappy GUI of course... Looks like our situation is now REVERSED...!

Oh I'm sorry I forgot, I'm already on 10.10.4. Btw, Yosemite is still terrible...

And also btw, Mavericks and Yosemite are known for taking up more resources, so it's no surprise if your procs and fans crank up a bit...

I think that did the trick. Was on Xcode all day yesterday and no fan coming on so hopefully it's not a fluke.

and some of us are quite happy on yosemite, and like the way it looks (and the way it works).

I use iStatMenus and sometimes when I see a weird report (like 0º C on one of the cpus, or fans that are going too fast for no reason), I restart and reset the smc at the same time, it always work. I'm not sure why it happens (not often but from time to time), maybe that's because my 1,1 mac pro is getting old - but that old beast still serves me well so...

Yeah thanks again. I tested all day yesterday and the fan did come on slightly under heavy usage but nothing compared to before where it sounded like my Mac was ready for take off, even when not doing much (late 2013 retina Mac book pro 13").

I might pop by the Apple Store for them to also clean the inside, think after 1.5 years it might be due. Do people actually do this?

That's one think I like about my non-Retina - I can do it by myself...

And I don't have any Apple Stores in my country, those bloody AASPs will either not do it or they charge exorbitantly...
