10.10.4 Fix or break video drivers

Has anyone tried 10.10.4 and seen if it fixes/restores some of the broken cards so they now work. Or have they continued on with there 'bull in china shop parade' and broken more cards?

Hey hero. Why don't you look at the thread I posted specifically in my question. Which noted a slew of ATI cards that don't work. Let me spell this out for you slowly, hero, NVIDIA != ATI.

So while I'm thrilled at your endless supply of enthusiasm for apple, your post is just useless typical overzealous fanboy crud.

Sadly, for some reason, some people become such devoted zealots of companies that is on the borderline of insanity.

Seriously, is a damn company, not your family, get some help.

Back to topic, can't tell if the upgrade broke anything, haven't had a chance to install it yet.

There is a lot of graphical overhauling occurring in OS X leading up to El Capitan and Metal support, and those of us with unsupported cards are undoubtedly the least of Apple's concern. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone, and selfishly letting others update first.

Are flashed cards working? If so, perhaps it's time to take that extra step. I know people say it's a lot of trouble for "just a boot screen", but that's an understatement--you really get a lot more than that.
 
With 346.01.02f04 and an unflashed nVidia GTX 970, would I definitely be out of luck if I updated to 10.10.4 before a new webdriver came out?

At the moment, for 10.10.4 it really is just the boot screen. Metal support hasn't been verified even on netkas's site for any PCI-E card, flashed or non flashed.
 
Probably best option is to have a separate HD or SSD with 10.10.4 installed and use that as a test boot drive. Normally whenever a new OS update or if I am installing a new untried software, I do it on a spare boot drive for safety.
 
Ug, I was hoping this would fix things kind of like the update after 10.9.2 botched things. Can hope for the captain. I wish I could find a 6 port single video card that is supported.

If you have an other Mac you could install WebDriver 346.01.03f01 via screen sharing or Apple Remote Desktop.
