Hi, guys! Too many things to ask on my Yosemite... (MB Pro 2013, 10.10 installed over 10.9) Just ask for help and some patience, please.

1. Wrong icons on my files.
For example VLC. Some file in the same folder may have it's icon, and some of the same format may not. A bit earlier some files had a MPlayerX icon, though I don't use it for a long time... Same thing happens with audio files.

2. I have two external HD (Silicon Power Diamond D05 1Tb and 2Tb). They are divided into 2 and 4 volumes acc. Six volumes. The thing is that when I start up, not all the volumes appear. I have to disconnect my drive and reconnect, then everything is OK. What's wrong (there is pretty enough free space and none of the volumes if filled)?
The other part of it is that the bigger HD is used for big movie files only and every time when I copy something there (any of 4 volumes) and then do a volume repair via Disk Utility, it show some minor troubles and repairs it. But it happens really every time – is it a HD trouble or what then?

3. I have some performance issues in a Download folder. I don't think there are a lot of files and folder there, but scrolling there is really slow in list view.

This is all for now, I will add some later.

Didn't really anyone face any of this? I have one thing to add: I lack animation, when I select some files and select «New folder with selection» – I see only the result.

What Grahamperrin said.

There have been threads around this, and basically, each of the video apps define their icons and type for the various media file extensions, and one app might define the media type correctly, while the second one installed changes it to something else.
