In installed 10.11.1 and similarly to 10.11.0 when I let my 2011MBP sit at the login screen for 48 hours, it is reluctant to reboot - including my Carbon Copy Cloner or TimeMachine backup... same issue.

I have a feeling this is hardware, I have had this problem since new with major updates but usually restarting 10-20 times will finally do it. Only this time it has been worse with each update... I’m afraid to update 10.11.2 because of this.

The display does this and stops half way at the progress bar when rebooting. These images do not happen on every reboot but when it does get “stuck” I’ll get an odd one like this.

Does my gut feeling that I am having an intermittent issue with a hardware thing merit looking into? I’m on the machine now, running 100%!

Installing 10.11.2 got rid of this problem on the first boot. That alone does not make this particular issue “solved” but it is comforting.
