10.11.1 STUCK at boot up...please help!!! urgent!

So I accidentally approved my Mac to update to 10.11.1 from the GM. When I realized my error, I figured oh well, let it be. The installation seemed to be going great, the computer restarted, but now it refuses to boot up. I can boot into recovery mode but not into safe mode. When I try to re-install the OS from recovery mode, it asks me to log in to my iCloud account and then says the download is temporarily unavailable. My Mac is bricked right now. Please help!!!

Did you try resetting the NVRAM or PRAM:

You can also use another Mac to create a bootable install media, and reinstall this beta.

I've ended up having to wipe my hard drive after many options exhausted and hours of research. Thankfully I have a Yosemite backup from last month.

same here, kernel panic at every boot. I had a time machine backup from just a minute before. Wiped drive, yosemite installed, time machine restored. Solved in 45 minutes. Bye bye capitan buggy bugs. Betas are betas. and GM are beta too. Nowadays even version zero final release are buggy...

I've updated to 10.11.1 and still getting these grey screens every 30 minutes or so! I'm struggling to even get my iMac back on after them. Just get a black or grey screen after the initial bong noise! It seems completely broken! Does anyone know a resolution to this or having the same issue?

Try booting from another drive and deleting what is inside of

/Library/Caches/
/System/Library/Caches/
/Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Caches/

That is of course from the drive you are having trouble booting...not the one you just booted from.

They're just cache files, and will be recreated eventually. You'll be fine. Its good to clear them every now and then, anyway.
