I have been running both betas (Dev on Mac Pro; Pub on MacBook Pro) without a problem that is not related to video rendering -or at least appears to be. There seems to be a minor increase in the resource usage (up by ~2-5%) but it also seems to be using memory a bit more efficiently because I routinely have more than 5 desktops open and 10+ tabs and with the preview instances (sometimes as high as 15) and I could reach 24GB used in various forms whereas now, it is now at 10GB with a 5 GB cache. Printing and networking all ok and phones are happy as well (iOS 9 but iOS 8 was fine as well) Mail seems to be doing better with Google which was a big problem a while back. Messages is also working better as far as SMS texting to non iOS users (sometimes failed in Yosemite). If you haven't gotten the GM, I would, it is an improvement.

^^^^That question has been asked a bunch of times. The answer is nothing functionally. The a suffix was applied to downloads for the PB folks and the b suffix is for the GM for developers.

I really appreciate how they have utilised fullscreen modes for us power users with multiple and large monitors. Also quite good on smaller screens as well, as the fullscreen management is sturdier.

All my devices are now upgraded to the GM, everything is very smooth and running well.

I really enjoyed all of the betas for the mac, they have been very stable and smooth for the general population..

but with the new GM, I have found that 'Notes' doesn't open a window when i click on it, but will acknowledge the click and open the app (just no window)

anyone else have this issue?

only annoying thing I've found besides that, is my iCloud needs signing into constantly with a message saying "problem connecting" popping up about 2 times a day

So it sounds like it is ok to get this version right away on the 30th of September?
I am thinking it can't be worse than Yosemite.

I just found out Mail has been fixed. Attempts to configure it before resulted in my IP being banned from my web provider after five unsuccessful tries to log in, now it worked immediately.

I would wait. At the moment 10.9.5 + all security updates is pretty stable. 10.10.5 is certainly better than 10.11.0, because the first versions of major OS X releases contain a large number of bugs.

indeed, everyone says it's pretty stable. They said the same about Yosemite beta 1, so... I won't trust anyone saying it's pretty stable...

I have a raid and after disabling security integrity or however it's called, I got a kernel panic screen at every boot, could not finish the boot. So not stable, at all.

When it comes to beta, I interpret stable as being relatively free from constant crashes and reboots. Just because you experienced a panic in a specific situation with several variables, that doesn't mean that other people using the OS differently will experience the same.

From what I have seen on the forum, (as a whole) El Capitan has been stable for most users who have taken the time to respond.

Xcode 7 GM and El Capitan GM are not working well together at all for me. Currently restoring to Yosemite until the Xcode bugs have been resolved.

On the bright side, I get to test my backup solution. :)

I updated to the GM candidate on a Mac Pro with a software RAID and it worked fine. Did you attempt to troubleshoot the source of your panic? It could be as simple as outdated 3rd party software.
