I've installed macOS sierra public beta on my secondary mac, an 21 inch late 2009 iMac. Beta 1 didnt have any significant problems, general performance (opening applications, browsing, itunes, etc) was satisfactory but since i've installed the public beta 2, i've had a significant drop in overall performance (finder taking 3-4 mins to open after boot-up, safari ultra slow, some apps won't opening at all).

Anyone else having this performance issue? I wonder if it's an issue specific to the late-2009 iMac

Same on my MacBook Air.

UPDATE: I back tracked to 10.12 and it "seems" a little better. YMMV

Meaning you've reverted back to beta 1? I've been wondering if i could do that, unfortunetely i didn't make any backups since i dont have any important data on my imac.

I've also tried reinstalling through recovery, but the process gets stuck giving me a message 'macOS sierra will be installed on ( my harddisk)'

Yes re-install through recovery....and it takes FOREVER. Leave it alone, my OCD was killing me!!

Update: Just installed PB3 on the iMac mentioned above, performance seems to be back to normal.
