Can't access from iphone, ipad, or using the icloud.com web site. I was really planning on moving everything from gmail, but with their email being unreliable right now, I just can't do it.

This screen shot is what pops up when accessing email from icloud.com

I clicked send a report.... not that it'll help.

You are braver than I

I moved everything except for email... I may just have to keep all my important stuff going to gmail. Apple has to really prove that their email service is reliable before I totally switch. So far, they haven't done that.

MobileMe mail is also down

I have held off on making the jump to the cloud, because MM has still been working for me. However, tonight, I just got the repeat demand for my pw. When I went to the actual MM website, it confirmed that MM mail is down. I am sure that ties into cloud mail also being down

I just don't understand it. Apple has had plenty of time and money to prepare for the amount of users and traffic that icloud is having to handle. I really want for this stuff to work.

down for me too

this is why i actually wanted to pay for mobile me.

it always worked, and not everyone and their mom was using it.
now that its free I have a feeling my me email is going to goto crap.

which sucks, because my me.com email is my main email, and has been since 08

Something very interesting is occurring now for me at least.

Go to System Preferences on your Mac and to Mail settings. On my computer it lists my Apple ID account as iCloud and then my iCloud email as a separate iCloud account. On my me.com account it says "This is not your primary iCloud account."

Anyone else?

MobileMe was a disaster out of the gate. It took Apple a good year to get it right. Now we are re-living the pain. Apple should be ashamed of themselves. If anyone is on a team at Apple that was a part of the original mobile me disaster and now Icloud - they should be fired.

And it seems to be back. For me, anyway.

I'm not surprised by the hiccups. Slightly frustrated, yes. But I'm not going to give it a bad review only five days out of the gate.

Yep, I've just had an hour or so of not being able to log into the iCloud webmail....All was working yesterday (especially outgoing mail via iOS devices/Mac), which was the first day it has actually done so since launch day, for me.......

This is a good point I reckon.....

By and large I had good experiences with MM since it was launched, excepting the odd glitch.....

I was happy to pay for the service and with it all now being free I do wonder if it's going to get 'overloaded'....Don't mean to sound sniffy, but sometimes paying for something results in a better product.......

Then again, Gmail et al are free, so Apple should be able to do this.....!?

Still down here, I'm still on MM, and still using my mac.com email address (which I hope stays whenever I make the jump to iCloud).

It's back for me. Yeah, I do have to wonder why this is so hard for Apple to get right when Yahoo, Microsoft and Google each have enormous user-bases for their email and they seem to stay up not perfectly but close. How hard can it be?

I'm confused

I can login ok at iCloud.com and see my mail account, no problem. However, iCloud mail through the mail application in Lion is offline. Any suggestions, other than maybe a simple glitch on Apple's end that will clear itself up shortly?

I suppose you could try removing the account from your Mac and re-doing it entirely. It should not affect your email since it is in the cloud anyway. Or just wait it out. It sounds like it will correct itself in time.

I'd be happy if someone from Apple could explain to me why this keep s happening. Are they doing something beyond the technology employed by Microsoft, Google and Yahoo? They keep their systems up with as many as 250 million users. Why is this hard for Apple? It's not an unknown process. They have the money to buy anything they need. Why is this so difficult?

Like everyone else, I enjoy using my Apple products (and services) and expect them to perform beautifully. Not knowing what's really going on here with Mail is annoying

Moreover, I'm hesitant to try to remove my account from my Mac and re-doing it entirely as I'm quasi-afraid that it could really cock things up. I'm just going to wait it out. I also converted over from MM - but that was within the first 24 hours of iCloud going live and it went pretty smoothly without any glitches - honestly (until now)

I so agree with that all, I migrated from MobileMe but after a few hours I have forward all my xxx@me.com emails from iCloud to Gmail

Currently I am in the process of routing everything back to Gmail, I just can't risk iCloud messing up my flow of email,

I'm so disappointed, I had hopped iCloud would have improved over MobileMe but in fact it is worse as far as email is concerned

On the up side though now everything is going to Gmail when I delete emails the read flag gets updated on my iPhone and iPad didn't realise how much I missed that
