Hi, all. Just wondering if 10.2 is a good idea for the 6. Especially whether or not it introduces lag in any way.

I used to upgrade my phone every two years, so there was never really any problem.

But I'm keeping the 6 for who knows how long, and I'm wary of updates based upon my iPad 3rd gen, which is damn near unusable after installing the latest iOS it supported.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your replies. I'm on 10.1.1 right now, and it's buttery smooth.

SSAJ's post makes me feel better.

Anyone specifically using the 6 and went from 10.1.1 to 10.2 who could tell me it's the same smooth experience or not?

Thanks.

I'm loathed to upgrade to iOS 10.2 as my 6 plus is running really smooth on 10.1 and the battery life exceeds 10hrs of usage. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Just got DirectNow streaming service and need to know how 10.2 runs on Mini 2! Currently using iOS 8.2! Thanks.

What kind of a bug? There are various bugs in petty much every iOS version (and petty much all software out there).

mebehere, not trying to hijack your thread but I figured this was a good place to post since it's all iPhone 6 users.

Wondering the following:

- Is it worth clean installing 10.2 if I'm coming from 10.1.1 with hopes of improving battery life?
- My phone's battery seems to be OK but is it worth replacing to, hopefully, improve battery life?
- Will battery life not improve by doing any of what's mentioned above due to older hardware (A8 processor, older graphics, etc)?

Thanks!

Expect a decrease in performance when iOS 11 drops for iPhone 6

The difference in battery life is very minimal.

You're better off with iOS 8 but iOS 10 doesn't run too bad on the 2 either. My fiancé has a mini 2 and works fine on 10.2

Thanks for you reply!

I will wait till someone does a performance test between the two iOS on YouTube!

Why do you say I am better off with 8.2 and not 10.2? I watching all the new features added on and it getting close to the current Andriod flavor!

The one thing iOS still cannot do is re-sizing the icons! Big negative for me! I would of kept the 9.7" if this feature were in the iOS!

iOS 8 has less lag to it but when it comes down to it, not many people notice. I don't with my iPad Air anyway. It's not bad like iOS 9 is on the first gen iPad mini. Now that's awful.

Replace your battery !!!

Why would you advice him to replace it?

OK, it has a lot of cycles, but full charge capacity is still 1600 today as opposed to 1751 when new. This means it still has 91% of the original capacity, which will normally not be really noticed when replacing.

Unless it makes crazy drops frequently, I would not advise to replace it right now.

What is your current battery life? I have a 6 as well with same battery health as you (at about half the cycles btw), which sits at 6 - 6,5h of moderate usage on 100% of battery.

yeah, I figured there was no need to replace the battery. I will keep track of my battery life after the next full charge and report back.

Thanks! I going think on it since I just upgraded once; at the time I first purchase my Mini 2!

Its been a few days since I installed iOS 10.2 on my 64GB iphone 6 and its just so slow to the point that it's becoming useless! I restored my iPhone at last.

Upgraded to 10.2 yesterday and everything is fine! Speed is "about same as 8.2" or faster:) ‍♂️!

My iPhone 6 is running as good with iOS 10 as it was with iOS 9 to the point where I decided to keep it another year and wait for iPhone 7S (or 8).

With iOS 10.2 I'm getting a little less battery life but it's still going for a full day so I can't complain.
