hey guys

As the title suggests I'm having some issues since the upgrade.

My iPhone crashes and resets a couple of time a day always when I'm on safari. It starts off as everything starting to skip including all the apps then just crashes.

It then says plug in as I guess there is no battery then I plug in and 5 minutes later it is 50% charged...?

It's the skipping that is annoying as this also happens when I'm not using safari.

The phone is from Australia, bought over a year ago now. All apps etc have all bee updated too

I'm having issues, but not as acute as yours on my 6s+. In my case, the app's loading screens will launch and then close. I have to double click on the home button to access the application. This affects Apple and non-Apple applications alike. There is no pattern I have observed as of yet.

Installed the 10.3 update via iTunes.

So I reset my phone.

I deleted everything and reinstalled iOS with latest update.

Now what I have noticed that when the battery gets 30% that's when it starts to get shaky. The apps do that jolty opening and the phone doesn't run smooth.

After about 5 minutes of that the phone crashes and resets.

One thing I have just done is put on low power mode, the problems have lessened but it still a little bit there. I've also put mobile data & location services on the bare minimum.

Does anyone have any idea? Is it possible my SIM card is causing this? That's all I can think but even when it's not in it still happens

Have you checked to see if your device is I the battery recall list? Sounds more like a faulty battery to me.

Good call. That's the behavior my 6s had with the bad battery issue.

Mmm thanks guys

Things is it's only started happening in the last three weeks, I have had the phone over a year.

I've attached a photo and it seems I'm not eligible, however it's never been replaced..?

Do you have an Apple Store nearby? That would be my next stop. It sounds like some thing is seriously wrong with your battery or power management chip. Any water damage incidents that you recall?

As it goes yes, about the same time.

Mmm interesting...
[doublepost=1491586354][/doublepost]Now this is where it gets tricky

I bought the phone in Sydney in 2015, towards the end near Christmas. I didn't buy warranty and live in Spain now. My nearest Apple Store is Spain.

Does anyone know what my options are in regards to costs, replacements etc..?

For clarification, you did have a water damage incident?
Where did you buy you iPhone in Australia? Apple Store? Other retailer?

Yes I think maybe water damage as I dropped in the toilet by mistake about a week before it started acting strange...

I bought it on a phone contract from a telephone store, not Apple Store.

Gotcha. I would say with almost certainty that the spill in the toilet is causing all of this. Since it's an Apple product, the Apple Store in Spain will take care of you. Since you don't have an extended warranty (any kind of warranty through your carrier by chance?), you will have to pay for an out of warranty replacement. I know here in the USA the cost is $300 for your device. Unfortunately, since water can be far reaching, a replacement is your best option as it's difficult to determine what components have damage.

Ah ok, what a bummer.

Unfortunately I cannot afford a replacement at the moment, is there anything I can do in the meantime to sustain it?

Certainly a bummer. I feel for you. I don't know of any mitigation steps you could take as the damage has already been done. Quick note on safety though. Since water damage notoriously affects the battery and power management of your iPhone, use caution when charging and using your phone. Don't leave your phone plugged in all night right next to you and certainly not under your pillow. Don't use your phone heavily in the sun and during high temperatures, don't leave it on the dash of your car, only use authorized chargers and cables, etc. since your battery and power contoller are damaged, the risk of fire or electrocution is increased. I'm not trying to scare you, but the threat is real so just be careful. When you can afford a replacement, I would do it ASAP. Also, try contacting your carrier to see if they have any stipulations in your contract in which you could upgrade your phone. I likely doubt that though since usually they require a trade-in of your current device, but won't accept yours with liquid damage.

Ah ok thanks I'll bear all that in mind.

Once I've got the cash I'll hv a look at replacements.

Thing is with these phones when they go wrong or something happens to them they cost a fortune to sort out

Absolutely. I guess that's where AppleCare+ can be worth it, but it's hard to fork over more money when already paying a lot for a new device. I'm very happy the iPhone 7 is water resistant. Best of luck to you!

So a quick little update:

For some bloody annoying reason I updated my iPad today to 10.3.1 today from 10.2 and guess what, exactly the same issues...!

The only thing I can think of is that I have started using new chargers as I'm in a different country from where I bought it.
