I'm sure some of you have seen my previous posts saying that I can't download anything in Safari and IE (In trach now):p ! But it seems I cant download anything in any browser! I tried repairing permissions but that did nothing! What am I supposed to do? Is my PowerBook G4 now incapable of downloading?

I'm guessing other network connections are working fine, right? Have you tried unplugging your modem and router (if applicable) for a minute and then starting them back up? :)

Well, you are going to have to give more specifics:

If for example you go here and try to download Steve Job's Macworld 1997 return Keynote in NY :) what behaviour does Safari exhibit? Try the Ctrl - click, save to desktop... If the download window doesn't open, open it from "Window/Downloads"

Try different browsers.

Then, if not sucessful, try to open the file (quicktime movie) within safari...does it begin playing at all?

Either way, depending on what the problem is, your powerbook is not incapable of downloading...even at worst case scenario a "new user" file may do the trick, or else you could try a re-install of OS X but this is a drastic measure, and don't try that before you get help of others here!!

I have just tried and it will download the video and it will download other stuff, but it seems that I am cursed :D because everytime I try and download something "I" wan't, it won't!

It could be an ISP-side issue. Sometimes ISPs have issues with specific domains. Have you given them a quick call to hear what they have to say? :)
