10.4.9 and my MacBook

Ever since I updated to 10.4.9, my macbook has been encountering problems.

Safari is constantly crashing and when i close the macbook to sleep, it keeps waking itself up and following a infinite loop of waking and sleeping...

Any ideas to solve it?

Boot from OS X DVD (restart and hold c on startup) and repair permissions/drive in Disc Utility. Also how much harddrive space you have left and open Activity Monitor and see what processes are running that use a lot of RAM.
